The Potrero Hill Neighborhood House, Inc. and its subsidiaries and affiliates (collectively, “the Nabe”, “we”, “our”, or “us”) are committed to protecting the privacy of those who entrust us with their Personal Information. “Personal Information” means any information pertaining to an identified or identifiable individual and may include, for example, email addresses, contact details and any similar information provided to us in the course of our business operations. Personal information that is de-identified or anonymized is not considered Personal Information. This Privacy Policy details our commitment to your privacy.
1. What does this Privacy Policy cover?
This Privacy Policy applies to our website (https://www.thenabe.org) (the “Website”) and other online services, that link to or post this Privacy Policy (collectively, the “Services”), and explains how we collect, use, and disclose information through the Services.
By using or visiting the Services or otherwise interacting with us, you are accepting the practices described in this Privacy Policy. If you do not feel comfortable with any part of this Privacy Policy, you should not use or access our Services. You should also review our Terms of Service of which this Privacy Policy is a part, to understand what you are agreeing to by using our Services. We recommend that you review this Privacy Policy periodically, as it may be updated from time-to-time.
2. What information does the Nabe collect, and how is it used and shared?
We collect Personal Information when you interact with our Services. We explain here what categories of Personal Information we collect, where we get it from, and with whom we share it:
Contact information: such as name, address, email address, and phone number.
Source: Users of our Services, including for a rental request or donations.
Purpose: To allow our users to access various aspects of our Services, to communicate with and respond to our users about our Services, or to meet legal obligations, and provide you with the products, promotions, services, newsletters, and information you request.
Recipients: We may share this information with our internal personnel and select other service providers and partners that perform services for us.
Browsing information (subject to applicable consent requirements): such as your IP address, MAC address, or other device identifier, your device type or mobile carrier, standard server log information, the kind of browser or computer you use, pages and content that you visit on our Services, what you click on, likes/dislikes, behaviors, comments, profile data, the state and country from which you access the Services, date and time of your visit, and web pages you linked to our Services from.

Use: To evaluate usage of the Services and improve performance, to protect the security and integrity of the Services and our business, such as preventing fraud, hacking, and other criminal activity, or to meet legal obligations.

Recruitment and volunteer questionnaire information: such as name, address, phone number, emergency contact information, and vaccination information.

Use: To consider you for a volunteer position, to respond to a volunteer inquiry, to help volunteers in an emergency, or to conduct a background check.
Recipient: We may share this information with our internal personnel who help us with volunteer matters and select other service providers and partners that perform services for us.
Medical Information: such as vaccine information submitted by volunteer applicants, mental and physical health information.
Source: Volunteer questionnaire and onboarding and management of referral clients.
Use: To ensure volunteer and child safety and enable referrals to clinicians.
Recipients: We may share this information with our internal personnel who help us with volunteer and mental health program matters and select other service providers and partners that perform services for us.
Behavioral and school information: such as whether a child is attending class or programs, classroom or program behavior, grades and school reports, family income.

Use: To provide mental health referrals, or reward or help improve a child’s school performance
Recipients: We may share this information with the child’s school, our internal personnel who help us with youth services, and select other service providers and partners that perform services for us.
Disclosure in connection with business transfers: If a division, a service, or all of the Nabe is bought, sold, or otherwise transferred, or is in the process of a potential transaction, Personal Information will likely be shared for evaluation and/or transfer purposes and included among the transferred business assets, subject to client contractual requirements and applicable law. We may share your Personal Information with third parties and our advisors for these purposes.
Disclosure to comply with laws: The Nabe may also disclose specific Personal Information when such disclosure appears necessary to comply with applicable law, a subpoena while managing a dispute, governmental inquiry, or other litigation process. We may also disclose Personal Information to our accountants, auditors, agents, lawyers, and other advisors in connection with the enforcement or protection of our legal rights or to protect the interests or safety of our employees or others in accordance with or as authorized by law.
Personal information collected by third party websites: The Nabe uses certain third party websites to collect certain information, such as volunteer and donor information. The information collected from these third parties will be subject to the privacy policies of such third party websites and not the terms herein.
3. What are cookies and how do we use them and other technologies?
The Services may use certain technologies such as cookies, beacons, tags, and scripts. A cookie is a small piece of information that a website, online application, or email may save to your browser or your computer’s hard drive for use in subsequent visits to the website or online application. Subject to jurisdictions where consent is required, the “help” portion of the toolbar on most browsers will tell you how to prevent your browser from accepting new cookies, how to have the browser notify you when you receive new cookies, or how to disable cookies altogether. If you reject cookies (after accepting them if applicable), you may not be able to participate in certain activities or receive a promotion tailored to you. The Nabe does not control and does not guarantee the effectiveness of browser-based tools for managing cookies.
Do Not Track (“DNT”): This is a privacy preference that users can set in some web browsers, allowing users to opt out of tracking by websites and online services. 4. How does the Nabe protect Personal Information?
Where applicable, the Nabe uses reasonable and appropriate technology in connection with the Services to help protect Personal Information from loss, misuse, and unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, and destruction. However, you should know that no website operator, including the Nabe, can fully eliminate security risks associated with Personal Information. While the Nabe has endeavored to create a secure and reliable website for users, the confidentiality of any communication or material transmitted to/from the Services or via e-mail cannot be guaranteed. Any transmission of Personal Information is at your own risk. The Nabe is not responsible for circumvention of any privacy settings or security measures pertaining to the Services.
5. How long does the Nabe retain my Personal Information?
We will retain Personal Information that we collect, access, or process only as long as necessary for the fulfillment of the purposes for which it was collected, unless otherwise authorized or required by law.
6. What are my choices concerning my Personal Information?
The Nabe may, subject to applicable laws, use Personal Information from users of our Services to contact them about our Services, including to provide them with information on additional services or to request donations. You may exercise choices regarding these communications as follows:
Marketing and Communications. You may decide that you prefer the Nabe not to use your Personal Information to promote new services or request donations and refuse that we contact you by mail, telephone, or email. If this is the case, you may advise us by contacting us using the information detailed in the “Contacting Us” Section below.
Emails/Commercial Electronic Communications. You can always limit the communications that the Nabe sends to you. To opt-out of emails, simply click the link labeled “unsubscribe” or “opt-out” at the bottom of any electronic communication we send you or, if no such link is provided, you can email us using the information detailed in the “Contacting Us” Section below. Please note that even if you opt-out of newsletter communications, we may still send you Service-related communications.
Users from Canada, the EU, UK, and Switzerland will, if required by applicable law, receive such communications only after having consented. Please note that “unsubscribe” requests may not take effect immediately and may take a reasonable amount of time to receive, process, and apply, during which time your information shall remain subject to this Privacy Policy. You should also be aware that we will not retrieve or rescind any information provided to any third parties prior to your decision to unsubscribe, unless required by applicable law.
7. What is the Nabe’s policy on children’s privacy?
Under Age 13 (or such higher age as required by law). We do not knowingly solicit or collect Personal Information from online sources from children under the age of 13 (or such higher age as required by law) without prior verifiable parental consent. If the Nabe learns that a child under the age of 13 (or such higher age as required by law) has submitted Personal Information to us without parental consent, we will take all reasonable measures to delete such information from our databases and to not use such information for any purpose (except where necessary to protect the safety of the child or others as required or allowed by law). If you become aware of any Personal Information we have collected from children under age 13 (or such higher age as required by law) without verifiable parental consent, please contact us using the information detailed in the “Contacting Us” Section below.
Under Age 18. Minors under 18 years of age may have the Personal Information that they provided to the Nabe through the Services deleted by sending an email to the email address in the “Contacting Us” Section belowrequesting deletion. Please note that, while we make reasonable efforts to comply with such requests, deletion of your Personal Information does not ensure complete and comprehensive removal of such data from all systems.
8. Your Privacy Rights
If you are a resident of certain jurisdictions, the law may provide you with the rights listed below with respect to your Personal Information; however, your rights are subject to certain exceptions. For instance, we cannot disclose specific pieces of Personal Information if the disclosure would create a substantial, articulable, and unreasonable risk to the security of the Personal Information or the security of our network systems.

When you exercise these rights and submit a request to us, we will verify your identity (or the identity and authorization of your agent) by asking you for information such as your email address or telephone number. We also may use a third-party verification provider to verify your identity. Please note that we cannot process your request if you do not provide us with sufficient detail to allow us to confirm your identify and understand and respond to it. We may deny requests from authorized agents who do not submit proof that they have been authorized by you to act on their behalf or are unable to verify their identity.
Your exercise of these rights will have no adverse effect on your use of the Services.
For the 12-month period prior to the date of this Privacy Policy, the Nabe has not sot sold any Personal Information about its users nor shared any Personal Information for cross-context behavioral advertising of targeted advertising; nor does it have any plans to do so in the future.
9. Right to lodge complaints
We are transparent about the ways in which we collect and use Personal Information and welcome your questions and concerns. If you have any concern or complaint about the way we handle your Personal Information, please contact us as described below. To the extent you believe we have not addressed your concerns or otherwise choose to do so, you have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority in the country where you reside and/or in the United States.
